“Why I’m here at La Verdad
Christian College-Caloocan”
Christian College-Caloocan”
______________________________________________________________________________
La
Verdad Christian College-Caloocan is founded by Bro. Eliseo F. Soriano and Bro.
Daniel Razon. Its vision that wisdom is based on truth is priceless. The
purpose of building this institution is to cultivate the minds of many students
in academic field, to give chance to many high school graduates that does not
have the capability to pay fees and expenses to continue his/her studies in
college and most important of all is to teach students on how to be a
God-fearing citizens and how to live like Christians.
When
I first came here at La Verdad Christian College-Caloocan, I thank God because
He gave me this opportunity to continue my studies and if it wasn’t for God’s
gift to me maybe I’ll be running around the streets and do nothing. I’m still
here because I want to graduate from college, help my family to raise from
poorness and continue studying words of GOD.
In this, I can say that I’m very lucky and fortunate to be here at La
Verdad.

"Sabayang Pagbigkas 2012"
"Sabayang Pagbigkas" is one of the best activity done in many schools. It is ordinarilly done in the month of August because we are celebrating the "Month of Language."
When I was in high school, our section and other section have been preparing for this event. We all gladly join the competition to enjoy and do our best to perform it. The first time I compete in "Sabayang Pagbigkas" is when I was in 2nd year and second was in 4th year. Unfortunately, our section didn't won but even if we didn't won, still we give all our best and effort to win and were still happy because we have accomplish performing it.
Now that I'm in college, I didn't expect that there would be an activity like this in college because when the time I asked my fellow teen neighbors who are already in college before me said that there wouldn't be such activity in college but that is not the way our school looks like compare to other colleges.
On our class (MCT-12), we didn't actually prepare very well in this competition because we are also doing our production in Humanities, only have 2 weeks to prepare before the event and we are still choral speeching and choreographing the 2nd stanza of the piece. If it wasn't for Ms. Roselyn Beltran, Ma'am Klarissa Navarro and Mr. Tykes Villagomez III, we wouldn't be advancing on the other lines of the piece. I also remember the statement that Mr. Tykes Villagomez III said to us "I doubt that you guys can do this activity because you only have 2 weeks to practice and still you are practicing line 2." In that statement, it inspire us to do it more and give the best that we can do.
When the time has come to perform the event, some of classmates are very nervous and some are happy but still we did our best and perform it with all our hearts on stage. When the awarding of winners is ready to be announce, me and my classmates hope that we can win this and can bring the trophy on our room. The 2nd runner-up was awarded to (MCT-11), 1st runner-up was awarded to (MCT-21) and the title "Champion of Sabayang Pagbigkas 2012" was awarded to our section (MCT-12). All of my classmates cried and jumped with joy when that title has been given to us because we didn't expect that we will win the competition because of our perfomance. I also admit that I cried a lot and jumped with joy because of our victory in this competition and my first victory in competing in this activity.
All in all, it ended up very well for me and for my classmates. Thanks be to God
