PHOTOWALK: The beauty of surroundings seen by the lens of our eyes

Photowalk is one of the most memorable experience that I'll never forget. Me and my fellow 2nd year students of La Verdad Christian College-Caloocan(LVCC-Cal) had a great time doing this activity together with our instructor and president of Photoville International(PVI) Direk Dominic Meily and many Photoville Members.

The event consist of two(2) batches, September 13 for MCT-2A and September 20 for MCT-2B this year. As it was stated, there are 2 scheduled dates where 2 classes are going to conduct the photowalk which I am belong to the class of  MCT-2B but unfortunately for some reason I didn't join on the given date that our class are going to do the said event because it may conflict my schedule and I feel worried of what could happen when I pursue on doing the event in Sept. 20, 2013 which will be a whole day activity and then go to Apalit, Pampanga on Saturday to give thanks to God because I'll celebrate my sabbath day in the next day (Sept. 21, 2013.) I have a feeling that my father wouldn't allow me because I'll be goneon Friday and also on Saturday so I decided to be with the class of MCT-2A.

When I woke up Friday morning (Sept. 13, 2013),  I went to the meeting place where we are going to start our photowalk even though not knowing where the exact meeting place is, fortunately I found it. Before we started, Direk Meily disperse us to have each group which I was belong to Group 4 with Erika Brondial, Joanne Canja, Rachel Pama and our team leader Mr. Rodgie Cruz, an official member of PVI.

When we started the event by walking and taking photos it made me feel excited of what would happen on that day. We have lots of fun and all of us had built friendship and bonding

As I take my photos with a DSLR on my hand , I feel very happy, lucky and wantedto see more sights where I can take picture of it

Before my eyes,  I see the beauty of the surroundings and the goodness of God to us in many surroundings that He had given to us. As the event ends, I felt happiness, feeling of wanting another photowalk and thankful that the event had been successful and God had guided us the whole day. At the moment, our instructor decided to have an exhibit of our photos and then it'll be for a cause.

              To God be the Glory..

Scholar

What is Scholar? Scholar is a privilege or an opportunity of a student to study with discount or sometimes free on specific expenses in any schools in primary, secondary and even tertiary level of education sponsored by the government, rich persons, artists and group/organizations. Students who had shown great academic skills and discipline are one of the candidate/beneficiary in having a scholarship grant.

As a scholar, you have to maintain high grades in every end of period or the grade that the school is requiring, follow rules and regulations of the school and as much as possible all rules including rules outside the school and most especially is to be a role model to all people.

One of the organization who has big number of scholars is the religious group "Members of Church of God International (MCGI)," founded by Bro. Eliseo F. Soriano, Presiding Minister of MCGI ad host of "Ang Dating Daan." He just did not sponsor youths who doesn't have the capability to pay expenses/fees in  school but also build a school for them to study with no fees at all, free uniform, ID, books, and lunch known as the "La Verdad Christian College (LVCC)." There are two(2) branches here at the Philippines, first is at Apalit, Pampanga, main branch and second is at Caloocan City.

Scholars of the said institution, are taught in various academic fields and most of all is to be a God fearing citizen.

One of those scholars that Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro.Daniel Razon sponsoring is me.

Being a scholar of them, is very fluttering in the heart of mine and also to my fellow students.at La Verdad. We can say that we have lots of fun, advance in learning  because we do lots of practical exercises/hands-on activities than grabbing a pen and use it to answers on the questionnaire and most of all were taught to follow the words of God.

As of now, I'm a 2nd year student at LVCC-Caloocan. I've gain lots of experience and knowledge while studying in this school like being the president of class, won 1st place on the "Sabayang Pagbigkas Competition," went to a province, use luxurious things in the field of radio and television production and photography, attend seminars and workshop, participate in an organization in school such as BREAD Society, Teatro La Verdad (TLV), and Blue Ants Dance Troupe, attend Bible study, have my very own Bible which all of these are my first time to experience and most of all is to be a part/member of an organization that practice holiness and follow the words of God.

          To God be the Glory

“Christian Living Week 2013”

Christian Living Week is a week where we celebrate the act of being and becoming a true Christians. It is celebrated by the students, instructors and even staffs. Actually, this is the first time that La Verdad Christian College-Caloocan will celebrate this kind of activity in school.
We students can’t deny that this week was “the bomb.” Everybody participated and everybody feel happy, comfortable and lucky that we have this kind of activity in school.
Me and my fellow classmates joined many competitions like Chorale Competition and Christian Dance Competition while other of my classmates join the solo competition like Bible Preaching, Bible Quiz Bee, Photo Contest, and Fashion Wear. We classmates enjoyed a lot and also got home in our house with a smile on our faces because we have won the Chorale Competition and Christian Dance Competition. In this, I thank God because of His guidance on all throughout of our performance and celebrating this activity. Thanks be to God.

“Why I’m here at La Verdad
                 Christian College-Caloocan”

______________________________________________________________________________

La Verdad Christian College-Caloocan is founded by Bro. Eliseo F. Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon. Its vision that wisdom is based on truth is priceless. The purpose of building this institution is to cultivate the minds of many students in academic field, to give chance to many high school graduates that does not have the capability to pay fees and expenses to continue his/her studies in college and most important of all is to teach students on how to be a God-fearing citizens and how to live like Christians.
When I first came here at La Verdad Christian College-Caloocan, I thank God because He gave me this opportunity to continue my studies and if it wasn’t for God’s gift to me maybe I’ll be running around the streets and do nothing. I’m still here because I want to graduate from college, help my family to raise from poorness and continue studying words of GOD.  In this, I can say that I’m very lucky and fortunate to be here at La Verdad.

"Sabayang Pagbigkas 2012"

"Sabayang Pagbigkas" is one of the best activity done in many schools. It is ordinarilly done in the month of August because we are celebrating the "Month of Language."

When I was in high school, our section and other section have been preparing  for this event. We all gladly join the competition to enjoy and do our best to perform it. The first time I compete in "Sabayang Pagbigkas" is when I was in 2nd year and second  was in 4th year. Unfortunately, our section didn't won but even if we didn't won, still we give all our best and effort to win and were still happy because we have accomplish performing it.

Now that I'm in college, I didn't expect that there would be an activity like this in college because when the time I asked my fellow teen neighbors who are already in college before me said that there wouldn't be such activity in college but that is not the way our school looks like compare to other colleges.

On our class (MCT-12), we didn't actually prepare very well in this competition because we are also doing our production in Humanities, only have 2 weeks to prepare before the event and we are still choral speeching and choreographing the 2nd stanza of the piece. If it wasn't for Ms. Roselyn Beltran, Ma'am Klarissa Navarro and Mr. Tykes Villagomez III, we wouldn't be advancing on the other lines of the piece. I also remember the statement that Mr. Tykes Villagomez III said to us "I doubt that you guys can do this activity because you only have 2 weeks to practice and still you are practicing line 2." In that statement, it inspire us to do it more and give the best that we can do.

When the time has come to perform the event, some of classmates are very nervous and some are happy but still we did our best and perform it with all our hearts on stage. When the awarding of winners is ready to be announce, me and my classmates hope that we can win this and can bring the trophy on our room. The 2nd runner-up was awarded to (MCT-11), 1st runner-up was awarded to (MCT-21) and the title "Champion of Sabayang Pagbigkas 2012" was awarded to our section (MCT-12). All of my classmates cried and jumped with joy when that title has been given to us because we didn't expect that we will win the competition because of our perfomance. I also admit that I cried a lot and jumped with joy because of our victory in this competition and my first victory in competing in this activity.

All in all, it ended up very well for me and for my classmates. Thanks be to God

Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up [Official Music Video]

                                                                  "I Won't Give Up"

When I look into your eyes
It's like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
Well, there's so much they hold
And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?

Well, I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find

'Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We've got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No, I won't give up

I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use
The tools and gifts we got, yeah, we got a lot at stake
And in the end, you're still my friend at least we did intend
For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I've got, and what I'm not, and who I am

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up, still looking up.

Well, I won't give up on us (no I'm not giving up)
God knows I'm tough enough (I am tough, I am loved)
We've got a lot to learn (we're alive, we are loved)
God knows we're worth it (and we're worth it)

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

“Isang Araw Lang the Movie”

IsangAraw Lang the Movie is one of my favorite movie that I've watched. It has an educational theme which teaches us viewer how to be a better person like don't make vengeance with bad values to a bad person instead reward him/her with good values, don't take advantage to those people who shows kindness to you and etc.

I like this movie because it is starring Kuya Daniel Razon and also has an element of comedy which is one of my favorite type of movie  which I'm fond of because I enjoy watching it, it entertains me, catches may attention, and most of all I laugh a lot.

After I have watched the movie, I crave for watching it again because it doesn't tires me to watch it again and again.

My question in my mind is: What if the end of the movie which Bro. Eli encourages Kuya Daniel to run politics cane to reality, would it become more good for us followers and for all the people in our country?

In these, I think that it is more better to serve God and spread words of God than to run politics because even if the leader is good at handling his/her power in the country but his/her men doesn't perform properly and has bad performance in their position like grafting it can affect the leaders performance but in the end as the saying says “You can't put a good man down.”
